To reach the Olympic Peninsula, turn off Interstate 5 (I-5) at Tacoma and follow Highway 16 to Highways 3, 104 then on to 101. From the Seattle area, you can take a Washington State Ferry to the Kitsap Peninsula. From downtown Seattle, ferry to Bambridge Island or north of Seattle, ferry from Edmonds to Kingston. Connect with highway 101. You can also drive around through Tacoma. A short detour off highway 101, will take you to historic Port Townsend. Highway 101 leads on to the cities of Sequim and Port Angeles. As the Black Ball Ferry enters the Inner Harbour of Victoria, you will see the grandeur of the Fairmont Empress Hotel, the majestic Parliament Buildings for the Province of British Columbia and the contrasting modern architecture of the Royal British Columbia Museum. Fourteen miles north of Victoria are the world famous Butchart Gardens. The Olympic Peninsula and Vancouver Island affords opportunities to experience awesome mountain vistas, natural forests, coastal shorelines, turn of the century architecture and classic homes and gardens.
